Inhibited antifreeze for solar thermal system – Solar Protector S1 Fernox 10 L Description:
An inhibited heat transfer fluid designed to protect all solar thermal heating systems at high temperatures. This product is effective in both vapour and liquid phases at temperatures above 180°C.

Application:
Solar S1 is suitable for use in solar thermal systems compliant with BS EN 12976 and BS 5918. Solar S1 inhibits corrosion of all metals commonly used in solar thermal systems. Solar S1 is compatible with all non-metallic materials commonly used in solar thermal systems. The product is ready to use and must not be mixed with other heat transfer fluids, or diluted with water or glycol. If other heat transfer fluids have previously been used, fully drain the system and flush with Solar S1 before filling.
Solar S1 is suitable for use in solar systems with stagnation temperatures above 360°C, provided the solar thermal system has been correctly installed and sized so that Fernox Solar S1 can fully retract from the collectors by evaporation when the maximum static temperature is reached. Solar S1 must not be exposed to temperatures of 180°C or higher for prolonged periods. Temperatures above 200°C cause a slow deterioration of the fluid, which in turn may reduce its service life.

Packaging, handling and safety:
Fernox Solar S1 is available as a ready-to-use premix in 10 and 20 litre packs. The product must not be diluted before use.
