SR-BA-060-H – 17.60 kW Coaxial Water Condenser
for Refrigeration Systems
Description:
A coaxial water condenser is a type of heat exchanger used in refrigeration systems. This device operates based on the principle of condensation, which is the process of converting a gas from its vapor state to a liquid state by releasing heat.
Coaxial condensers are preferred for their efficiency in heat exchange, especially in space-constrained environments, as their coaxial design allows for a more compact footprint compared to other types of condensers.
The coaxial water condenser functions by utilizing the principle of heat exchange between two fluids flowing in opposite directions within a coaxial tube. The tube consists of two concentric pipes: an inner and an outer pipe. The fluid to be cooled (e.g., gaseous refrigerant in a refrigeration system) flows inside the smaller tube, while the water, acting as the cooling fluid, flows through the annular space between the two pipes.
During the condensation process, heat is transferred from the refrigerant to the water, causing the refrigerant to condense from gas to liquid. This heat exchange is made more efficient by the large contact surface between the two fluids and their counterflow direction, which maximizes the thermal gradient and thus heat transfer efficiency.
The main advantage of a coaxial condenser is its compact design and high heat exchange efficiency, making it ideal for applications where space is limited and high cooling capacity is required. Additionally, using water as a cooling fluid can be more cost-effective and sustainable in certain situations, particularly where cooling water is readily available.
